Noyle, a 32-year-old from Honolulu, is at the top of the totem pole on the North Shore.

When it comes to surfing, photographers are often the unsung heroes. Part of getting the shot often means putting yourself in situations most try to avoid. Of course, there’s nowhere like the North Shore when it comes to surfing, and on the North Shore, there’s no one like Zak Noyle.

The video above is part of Red Bull’s Chasing the Shot series. Noyle, a 32-year-old from Honolulu, is at the top of the totem pole in a place that’s inundated with photographers trying to make a name for themselves.
